niederman family farm The Niederman Farm is a working farm that invites the public to see a fading American culture. “Many children and their families are now generations removed from the farm and take for granted the significance agriculture plays in our lives,” said Bethann Niederman. “We bring this education to people, both kids and adults, in a very entertaining way! Our nostalgic look at the American farm is slow-paced and relaxing fun times for family to really connect while doing things together like a hay-ride, picking their own pumpkins, roasting a hot-dog, you name it.” As a farming family since 1948, they have a lot of knowledge to share. The Niederman’s have always had cows. But sometimes, the person doing the milking can get kicked or have any number of unexpected things happen. So the Niederman’s found Besse. She doesn’t need to graze or mess but she sure does get milked – and often! Sometimes, you have to grab hold of the udder to realize this is a faux cow! But it serves its purpose – educating visitors about farm life, as the Niederman’s have been doing for more than a decade. Niederman Family Farm’s 265 acres offers farm tours, hayrides, planting the pumpkin patch, livestock, bonfire pits, barn rentals, corn fed beef and sweet corn, paintball courses, bed and breakfast inn, and many seasonal events, including an enormous corn maze, pumpkin patch, Christmas walk and more. Group accommodations are routinely made for families, mom’s clubs, school groups, day care centers and home school groups. The Niederman’s also accommodate large family reunions and corporate events in a restored 1890s barn with modern amenities. Its time to enjoy the sights and sounds of the season, see the new farm animal arrivals, learn about a disappearing American culture, and open new pastures. Don’t leave without milking Besse. Niederman Family Farm is located at 5110 LeSourdesville-West Chester Road in Liberty Township, Ohio between Cincinnati and Dayton. Reservations are required.
