vintage alpacasVintage Alpacas is now at two locations--a unique farm operation just four minutes from downtown Cleveland at 4933 Schaaf Lane, Brooklyn Heights, in Cuyahoga County and at 6881 Sharp Road, Mt. Vernon, in Knox County. The Cleveland location is home to more than 60 alpacas and two Great Pyrenees dogs that guard the herd. The Mt. Vernon location has more than 40 alpacas. Both locations show crias, or baby alpacas, born all year long, and offer educational and recreational programs so visitors can learn more about alpacas and their fleece. Additionally, group tours are offered for an in-depth look at alpaca farming. Farm hours at the Cuyahoga County location are 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily or otherwise by appointment. Mt. Vernon hours are Monday through Friday 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and appointments are preferred. Group tours are $2 per person and last two hours.
