stearns homesteadStearns Homestead is on 48 acres in the heart of Parma in Cuyahoga County. The City of Parma purchased what was then known as the Gibbs farm - the last working farm in Parma. The farm with buildings and two houses is leased to and operated by the Parma Historical Society. The Stearns House, built in the 1850s and the Gibbs House, built in 1920 are operated as museums with furnishings appropriate to the era. A Yankee-style barn and outbuildings, a country store, gardens and farm animals are available. The Homestead opens May 16 for the 2010 season. The farm is open Saturday and Sunday until mid-October. Hours are 12 noon to 4 p.m. Special events are scheduled through the season. Admission and parking are free. For more information and directions, contact the Homestead at 440-845-9770.
