Cincinnati Dinner Train : April 04, 2009 - September 29, 2009
Scheduled to begin weekly operation in April of 2009, the dinner train will feature dining for 108 people on two finely restored 1940s vintage dining cars. Also featured will be a restored baggage car with a full service cash bar, music, lighting and two open side doors for viewing as we travel the Warren County countryside. The dinner train will operate Saturday nights with special group charters available Sunday - Friday. Groups from 40 to 108 can charter the dinner train for their own dining rail adventure. Saturday nights will be reserved for the public on a first come basis. Tickets will soon be available for purchase via the railway Web site or at our gift shop in downtown Lebanon. Occasional dinner train excursions are planned for the Oasis Line departing from the Montgomery Inn at the Boathouse in downtown Cincinnati. Ticket prices will be $69.95 per person plus tax, gratuity not included.

Sculptures on the Square : May 04, 2009 - September 20, 2009
In 2009, Sculptures on the Square will host works from many different sculptures representing a wide assortment of artistic approaches. The exhibit will provide an excellent showcase for sculptures and will include two components, the outdoor sculptures located around downtown, and the small sculpture exhibit hosted by the Troy Hayner Cultural Center. Sculptures will include wildlife, modern, historical, whimsical, and classic sculptures of bronze, metal, wood and concrete. All proposed works are juried to ensure artistic merit and subject matter is appropriate for general and family viewing. These pieces will be on display at the Hayner Center between June 21 and Aug. 15.

Each year the town comes together to put on this enormous event, with all the proceeds going to fund the Fire Department. The Mesopotamia Vol. Fire dept. depends on the Ox Roast's proceeds to fund approximately 75 percent of its operating costs and the purchase of new equipment. Pancake Breakfast daily from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the fire station, hosted by the Bloomfield-Mespo Cheerleaders.

History Camp 2009 for Kids : July 14, 2009 - July 22, 2009
This summer students who will be entering 4th through 7th grades in the fall are invited to attend the Warren County Historical Society's annual "History Camp for Kids." This year's topic is "The Underground Railroad in Southwest Ohio". Education Director John Zimkus will lead a lively discussion that delves into the mystery and myths surrounding the network of brave individuals from the area who helped run-a-way slaves escape to freedom. Among the activities "campers" will experience are a trip to the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center museum in downtown Cincinnati to take part in their "Coming of the Civil War" program. Also, "campers" will follow a walking tour of many of the known Underground Railroad sites in Springboro and take a visit to the first Free Black School in the Northwest Territory established in 1833 in Harveysburg. Dates are Tuesday and Wednesday July 14, 15, 21, 22. Class size is limited to 35 students. The cost per student is $30 and includes the field trip costs.

Set within the 88 acres of Franklin Park, the event offers a variety of tastings, food & wine education, and cooking demonstrations by some of the region's top chefs in a fabulous outdoor setting. This relaxed wine tasting event is designed not only for the novice wine consumer just learning about the world of wine, but also for the experienced wine drinker looking for new and exciting brands. Festival guests can taste from a selection of more than 150 domestic and international wines and enjoy food from some of the finest restaurants in the Columbus area. The festival will also feature the E&J Gallo Winery Tasting Pavilion -- highlighting a variety of Gallo brands -- and the Diageo Chateau & Estate Wines Village. Wine Festival tickets are $25 per person in advance (purchase by 8/6/09) or $30 at the door (for adults 21 and over). Admission includes a souvenir wine glass, 10 tastings, a festival program, food and wine seminars, cooking demonstrations, musical entertainment and an opportunity to order wine at the event.

From Field to Table Festival : September 12, 2009 - September 13, 2009
Ohio Farm Bureau and Franklin County Farm Bureau have teamed up with Franklin Park Conservatory to sponsor a new fall family fun event. The Festival will offer visitors the opportunity to learn from a wide range of educational programs focused on green living, eating locally and seasonally, harvest and fall family activities and gardening. Pawpaw Festival : September 19, 2009 - September 20, 2009
Join pawpaw fanatics from around the country at the peak of the season for a day filled with pawpaws, pawpaw foods, pawpaw beer, pawpaw music, pawpaw art, pawpaw history, pawpaw people and much more. Gates open on Saturday with music, workshops and fun. Admission is $5 per day per visitor with a weekend pass available for $8. Children under 12 years of age are free. There is also a vehicle-parking fee of $2 per day or a weekend pass for $3. The Pawpaw Express is a shuttle sponsored by the Office of Sustainability at Ohio University that runs from OU's Baker Center every hour on the hour from 10:00 a.m. til 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The return shuttle starts at 10:30 a.m. and continues until midnight (No returns between 6:30 p.m. - midnight) Sunday leaving Baker Center from 10 a.m. til 2 p.m. with returns from the festival from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Call Lake Snowden for camping information 740-698-6373.
